There are many reasons to get a portrait taken. Most parents don’t need an excuse other than the children are growing and you want to capture the way they look and their personalities in each stage of life. There are specific times and events warranting extra consideration, however. Most moms come in on occasions such as:
• Milestones in a child’s life. A child will change most dramatically during the first two years of life. The change is so dramatic that every three months is considered a milestone – newborn, three months, six months, nine months, one year birthday, 15 months, 18 months, 21 months, and second birthday. When you look back at the changes over this time you will be amazed at how different each portrait looks.
• Holidays. Every mom’s favorite Mothers Day gift will be a portrait of her children. Get dad a new portrait for his desk or wallet for Fathers Day. Commemorate Hanukkah, show off the latest Halloween costume and Easter dress, and don’t forget the Christmas card.
• Birthdays are always the perfect opportunity to get that portrait updated.
• Religious events such as a baptism, christening, or a Bar Mitzvah. Religious events in the life of a child mark some of the most important times of growth and memories in their lives.
• Updating the family portrait. When was the last time you got the whole family together for a portrait? We recommend families get a portrait taken annually. Kiddie Kandids also specializes in family portraits because it’s not just the youngest members of the family changing. Everyone changes from year-to-year. Have fun looking back at all of the changes, even if it means dad has a little less hair each year.
